Summary of CHL Lease Program
The CHL Lease Program provides our customers with safe, reliable cars for the duration of their stay in the U.S. Our current fleet includes 2008 and 2009 Mitsubishi Lancers as well as 2008 and 2009 Chevrolet Aveos.
CHL strives to give our customers peace of mind. Our cars are delivered to your location before you arrive, and all leased cars come with 24/7 Roadside Assistance. No matter what day or time it is, you will be able to get help if you lock your keys in the car, need to be towed to a mechanic, run out of gas, or simply need help changing a tire.
Roadside Assistance
All CHL lease cars come with Roadside Assistance. Roadside Assistance includes:
- Towing to the nearest car retailer or other approved service point if your vehicle is not drivable
- Jump-start in the event of a dead battery
- Exchange of a flat tire with your inflated spare
- Lockout assistance to gain entry into your car
- Mechanical “first aid” for minor roadside repairs or adjustments

Mileage
We understand that to truly experience American culture, you will want to visit many parts of the country. The best way to do this is to travel around the U.S. in a CHL lease car. Our lease cars come with an allowance of 1,500 miles per month – other leasing companies typically provide only 1,000 to 1,250 miles per month without additional fees. CHL customers driving more than 1,500 miles per month will be assessed a fee of seven cents ($0.07) per mile over limit at the end of their lease.
Lease Term and Cancellation
For VIF educators, the Lease Agreement begins upon delivery of the car and ends roughly one, two, or three years later on June 30, depending on the lease term you select.

Monthly Lease Payments
For VIF educators, the following lease schedule applies:
Three Year Lease

Two Year Lease
- 2008 Chevrolet Aveo - $330
- 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer - $340
- 2009 Chevrolet Aveo - $340
- 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer - $350
One Year Lease
- 2008 Chevrolet Aveo - $360
- 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer - $370
- 2009 Chevrolet Aveo - $370
- 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer - $380
These amounts do not include insurance. An initial payment of $550, which includes: first month lease, first month insurance, and administrative fee, will be due upon arrival.
Here’s how the initial payment works… The initial $550 will be deducted from the Relocation Loan. The monthly lease payments will be drafted from your bank account. Draft dates will either fall on the 1st or 15th of each month.

Insurance
In the U.S., all drivers are required to have auto insurance. All CHL lease cars must be insured through CHL’s group policy. For more information on CHL’s insurance, please see Insurance.
Car Maintenance
Every CHL car has undergone a state safety inspection that confirms all major components (tires, engine, transmission, and brakes) meet state guidelines for safety.
CHL customers are responsible for all routine maintenance and minor repairs (oil changes, tire rotations, brake servicing, battery replacement, etc.) and for damage or excessive wear and tear during the Lease Agreement.
All customers are required to call CHL before having minor repairs done. We can help you select a legitimate vendor and keep the cost down.
Additional Taxes and Fees
CHL will handle the payment of all taxes and registration fees. All cars are registered in the name of Chapel Hill Leasing as owner. Customers are provided with proof of registration and valid license tags for the car. During the term of the Lease Agreement, CHL will send you updated tags and registration as needed.
Inspections
CHL customers are responsible for annual inspections. These inspections are required by the state in which the car is registered. CHL will provide you with information about inspections when you pick up your car.
Delivery of Car
If you complete all lease arrangements before you come to the U.S, your CHL car will be waiting when you arrive in your new U.S. community. (Please note that, if you wait until you get to the U.S. to decide about transportation, CHL will need a few days to transport the car to your location.)
Return of Car
CHL will notify you months in advance of your lease completion date with return instructions, including a location within your state to return the car.
