Summary of CHL Insurance Program
The CHL Insurance Program gives our customers great coverage at competitive rates. U.S. laws require every driver to have an active insurance policy. At CHL, we understand that it is difficult to get insurance without having a social security number (upon arrival), U.S. driving history, and knowledge of the insurance terminology. CHL simplifies this process and gives you peace of mind.
Coverage
CHL provides the minimum insurance levels that we believe are necessary to protect you personally and financially in the event that you are involved in an accident.
- Combined single limits of liability for bodily injury and property damage – $1,000,000
- Uninsured motorist coverage, combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage – $100,000
- Underinsured motorist coverage, for bodily injury only – $100,000
- Collision and upset for the full insurable value of the car, subject to a maximum $500 deductible
- Fire, theft, and comprehensive coverage for the full insurable value of the automobile, (maximum $500 deductible)
- Uninsured motorist coverage (maximum $100 deductible)
- “Hit and run” accident or vandalism coverage (maximum $250 deductible)
- As a courtesy to CHL customers, CHL will reimburse its customers $20 per day for up to 30 days toward the cost of a rental car while the vehicle is being repaired for customers who have “at fault” accidents (meaning, you are the one at fault).
- The CHL Insurance Program does not cover rental cars or insurance on rental cars. If you rent a vehicle, you are responsible for purchasing insurance on the rental car. CHL recommends that you purchase the additional insurance coverage offered by the rental car company.

(For VIF customers, CHL created the Car Sharing Program, which allows a second driver to be insured for only an additional 30% of the cost. For any questions regarding who can participate in the Car Sharing Program, please contact CHL.)
No other drivers are authorized to drive the insured car.
Insurance Increases or Terminations
As an incentive to keep insurance premiums low for the group of CHL drivers, CHL customers who receive traffic violations, have an at-fault accident, and/or incur damage to their insured cars are subject to an increased insurance rate, as allowed by state law. CHL has the right to terminate a customer from the insurance policy if he/she received a citation for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI).
